Ahead of assembly elections, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar highlighted his achievements and expressed how he has delivered on all the seven resolves for governance made during 2015. On Friday, he also said that if the same party is voted back to power, they would strive once again in pursuit of the goal.
CM also emphasized on the new policy that the new Bihar government would bring in on being elected. He quoted that girls will be awarded sum money on successful completion of their education. As announced by the CM,
Women will get special assistance of Rs 10 lakh and we will provide Rs 25,000 to the girls passing intermediate exams and Rs 50,000 to the girls who graduate.
He also added,
We will create a new department for skill development promoting entrepreneurship. ITI Polytechnic institutes will come under it. We will financially help people who would want to start their venture.

The CM also termed himself as the man of the moment for taking Bihar to the next level of the development. He said,
In a democracy, voters are the masters. They have to take a call and decide who do they want to give a chance.
The elections for the 243 Assembly seats in Bihar will be taking place in three phases between October 28 till November 7. Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora while announcing the Bihar polls dates, notified,
Elections for the first phase will take place on October 28 on 71 Assembly constituencies, elections for second phase on 94 seats will take place on November 3, and the third phase poll on 78 Assembly seats will be on November 7.
The scheme of giving Rs 25,000 to girls on graduation has been in force since 2018. This is a significant amount since Bihar’s per capita income stands at Rs 38,546 (as on November 2018). The decision was then taken by the state Cabinet, chaired by Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
While one may look at exclusive schemes for girls/women as a boost to their empowerment, why do we neglect young boys who can be equally aspirational, but could be losing out due to lack of privilege. Gender Equality has been a myth since most schemes are passed off as privileges and not non-discrimination.
