In a shocking case reported from Sikar in Rajasthan, a minor boy was allegedly humiliated and forced to dress as a woman by the locals. The accused locals further went on to film the entire incident on a mobile phone and circulated it.
The boy was subjected to harassment as the villagers suspected him of eloping with a married woman, reported Times Now.
The incident reportedly took place earlier this month. The victim hails from a nomadic family and the police are treating the boy as a minor as his age has not been verified yet. The cops will rely on medical experts to confirm the age of the victim.
Since the accused allegedly wanted to teach a lesson to the boy by humiliating him, they put iron chains around the boy’s neck and forced him to wear bangles. Following this, the accused was also forced the boy to wear a ghagra (woman’s skirt like attire).
Additional SP Ratan Lal said that an FIR was registered against the persons who humiliated the boy. Lal added that another complaint was lodged against the boy by the family of the woman.
- Lets assume the boy is not even a minor, why is the onus of eloping rested completely on him and not equally on the married woman?
- Families of women who take law in their hands, believe that they can do instant justice, to save their pride, even if their own daughter is in the wrong
- Society too, encourages mob mentality when it comes to women, without any case been proven in a proper court of law
- Since this is a boy child, social media will have least empathy for the atrocity caused on him
