Gurugram Man Kills Father, Then Shoots Self | Leaves Suicide Note Blaming Wife & In-Laws

On Saturday, a 32-year-old lawyer shot his 62-year-old father before turning the gun on himself in Sector 9 A of Gurugram, said police. Officials initially suspected that the incident could have been a fallout of a property dispute.

Both father and son were found in a room of a paying guest accommodation, which was filled with a pool of blood. The incident took place in Laxman Vihar area of Sector 9A.

However, the Gurugram murder-suicide case has taken a new turn as cops have recovered a suicide note from the pocket of the deceased Ravinder Dahiya, who shot his father Rajveer Dahiya dead on Saturday afternoon. The man also died of suicide after shooting his father.

According to police, they have now recovered a suicide note from the son victim’s pocket. Ravinder has left six lines in his suicide-note accusing his wife and in-laws to be responsible for their deaths. As per Preet Pal Sangwan, Assistant Commissioner of Police (crime), Ravinder specified in the note that he had been harassed for the last 10 years ever since his marriage.

Singh wrote that even though he is taking this extreme step and is responsible for the same, however, his wife and in-laws are to be blamed. Sangwan said,

We have booked the wife and in-laws for abetment of suicide under section 306 of Indian Penal Code and are investigating the matter.

Case:

Rajveer Dahiya was a retired official from Delhi police. He and his son had constructed two houses in the area. They had also constructed one more home in Laxman Vihar which later turned into a PG facility in 2016.

ACP Sangwan said that Rajveer used to manage and stay at the PG facility, while Ravinder used to help him too. The father-son duo had also employed a woman from a nearby eatery to cook meals twice a day and also snacks during tea time break between 3 pm and 4 pm for those staying there.

Sangwan said that the maid was the first one to have found bodies lying in the PG. He quoted:

She claims that when she went to the PG at around 3 pm, she found bodies lying in a pool of blood.

Soon after the incident, she had informed the family about the same. Ravinder allegedly shot two bullets into his father before shooting himself, mentioned police.

Manjeet Dahiya, Ravinder’s younger brother, informed police about his brother being upset over the property and marital issues. He said,

The in-laws always pressurised my brother and threatened him to lodge a criminal case against him and send him behind bars.

Nonetheless, their now deceased father also wanted his son to sort out these issues with his wife and to bring her home.

A case under IPC section 302 (murder) was registered against the deceased Ravinder, and sections 306 (abetment of suicide) and 34 (common intention) against his in-laws at Sector 9 police station on Saturday late evening. However, as reported by the Hindustan Times, nobody has been arrested yet.
