A police officer from Gurugram has filed a complaint against a woman alleging constant blackmailing by demanding Rs 1 crore. According to the complainant police officer, the woman has also filed an alleged false case against him, when he refused to give her the amount.
An FIR based on the victim’s complaint was registered on Wednesday.
A former station house officer (SHO) of Sadar police station approached police on June 25 stating he acquainted with the woman when he was posted in the city last year. The same woman had filed some dispute case against a third-party and cops had investigated the matter fairly.
The complainant said that later the woman started blackmailing him with a ransom of Rs 1 crore, else threatened him with a false case. The woman along with her aides have been troubling and trying to extort money from him since last year, informed the officer.
When he failed to give the money, she filed a false complaint against him in Jind, Haryana. The complainant also mentioned that the aides of the accused woman have filed similar other cases against various other persons with an intention to extort money.
Investigating officers have registered a case under Section 384 (punishment for extortion) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the accused persons at Sadar police station.
Station House Officer (SHO) Dinesh Kumar, Sadar police station, said that after the case being filed, an investigation has commenced. Adding further, Kumar said,
A complaint was received and after conducting an investigation, an FIR has been registered. Some audio recordings have been submitted by the complainant and we are verifying the allegations.
Apart from a woman, two more people have been named in the FIR. No arrests have been made so far.
