A District Magistrate of Sheohar district in Bihar on Friday filed a criminal case against his wife and mother-in-law on serious charges of extortion and defamation. He has lodged an FIR in the city police station of the district.
Sajjan Rajasekhar has been married to his wife Sitara since 2017. The couple has one daughter and one son.
In June this year, Sitara had filed a criminal case against her husband at the City Police Station of Muzaffarpur, making serious allegations of domestic violence and dowry harassment. In the FIR, she alleged that her husband used to harass and beat her for dowry. She accused him of thrashing her badly on March 1. She has also accused him of separating her from her two-year-old daughter.
Rajasekhar has termed the allegations of domestic violence and dowry against him as completely baseless. He has also alleged that apart from extortion by his wife and mother-in-law, they are allegedly creating mental pressure on him.
Divorce Filed By Husband
Rajasekhar has filed a divorce petition in the District Family Court, while the wife reportedly is not ready for divorce. The wife told media,
We got married on September 4, 2017 in Chennai. We have a son and a daughter. The daughter is living with Rajasekhar while the son is living with me. He has not given any money to maintain me or my son.
