In a recent development in the ongoing divorce battle, BJD MP Anubhav Mohanty has been charged under new sections of the IPC. Anubhav’s wife Varsha Priyadarshini has registered new cases against the member of parliament, under Sections 498A, 341, and 506 of the IPC. The charges have been levied on two of Mohanty’s associates as well.
Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh did not respond to media’s call neither responded to the messages regarding the case lodged against Anubhav Mohanty. Cuttack Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi, however, confirmed about the case registered against the husband.
As reported by India Today, in her complaint, Varsha Priyadarshini has alleged that Anubhav and two of his friends had locked her in a room in his house at Nandi Sahi in Cuttack on the night December 18. A police team then reached the house of the parliamentarian and rescued her.
Anubhav had been demanding Varsha to hand over one of the keys of her room which was opposed by the actress. Anubhav had then allegedly locked the room from outside and gave one of the keys to the security guard while keeping another himself.
